The Vineyard is an English service which takes place weekly after our Saturday English liturgy. It’s a friendly environment for congregants to gather, share in the word of God and in fellowship with others while offering a unique approach to grow our faith in a practical sense.

Mission: Our mission is to raise a generation that is excited to come to church and continually be renewed and transformed with the goal of becoming more like Christ.

Vision: An English focused, Christ-centred community to grow as one family through shared values and a feeling of being home.

Why The Vineyard? The Bible has many beautiful titles for Our Lord, Jesus Christ. He is the True Vine and the whole church is the Vineyard. We are each a branch within the Vineyard that Christ our Lord tends to in order to grow with Him.

Pillars of this Service

Social: A strong sense of community for our primarily English congregants to gather in fellowship, sharing of meals, and uniting together within Christ.
Spiritual: Understanding our faith as Orthodox Christians and growing in the knowledge and love of Christ.
Support: Supporting aspects of core human needs and contemporary topics.
Stewardship: Growing the talents of our beloved congregation to serve one another

Intercessors

St. John Chrysostom: St. John is described to have had a “golden mouth” for the reason that from a young age. He had a gift of being able to inspire many and was well versed in the understanding of Holy scripture and the sacred traditions of the Early church. From a young age, he was deeply concerned with the plight of the poor and gave his belongings to them after his father’s death. He wrote many beautiful homilies, sermons, interpretations, and he himself is an incredible source of guidance around Christian Theology, biblical commentaries, and marriage and family life.

St. Monica: St. Monica so beautifully exemplifies a life of patience, strife, and perseverance provided through God’s grace. She had a firm belief in God’s ability to transform the heart of her beloved son, St. Augustine who had distanced himself from Christ and was wasting his life at a younger age. Her unceasing prayers, trust in God, and tears were comforted by God when she heard the prophecy, “the child of those tears will never perish”.
