Gym Booking Guidelines

In order to process requests as efficiently as possible we ask that you please follow the steps listed below for booking gym times:
  1. Find a time slot that is free using the schedule shown below (Note: at least 3 days notice before the requested time slot is required).
  2. Ensure that you have at least one supervisor that is 20 years old and up.
  3. Contact either Robert Shahata (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)  or David Tawfik (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and provide the following information:
    • Activity
    • General age group using the gym
    • Supervisors name, email and cell phone
    • Date and time of booking
    • Number of occurrences for booking (i.e. one time event, weekly, daily, etc…)
  4. Ensure all participants sign waiver forms prior to the start of any activity if they have not already done so previously. Submit all completed waiver forms to Tasony Maria. Note that waiver forms will be provided by the Church at your booked time.

 

Gym Rules

  1. Only non-marking athletic shoes are permitted. Loafers and high heels are not allowed. Muddy or dirty shoes will not be allowed in the gym.
  2. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times.
  3. Short shorts and tank tops are not permitted. Shorts must be knee length or longer.
  4. No food or drink is allowed in the gym (plastic water bottles and plastic sport bottles are permitted).
  5. No glass or metal containers will be permitted.
  6. Participants will be financially responsible for damaged, stolen or lost sports equipment. All equipment will be used in the proper way.
  7. Disagreements, disputes and arguments not settled in a Christian manner will result in the participant being asked to leave.
  8. No person shall use the gym for any activity other than its intended purpose, unless approved by the Coordinator.
  9. The gym shall be opened and used only in the allotted time for the allotted activity.
  10. The following activities are not permitted and will result in dismissal, suspension or expulsion of your right to use the gym.
    • Fighting
    • Swearing
    • Property damage or vandalism
    • Disorderly Conduct
    • Horseplay
    • Littering
  11. The Coordinator on duty will have the right to dismiss individuals from the gym for conduct not fitting a Christian. Games can also be curtailed at the Coordinators discretion.
  12. Any disputes over times, players, games and procedures will be decided by the Coordinator on duty.
  13. The CCCC will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items brought into the gym. It is strongly recommended that all belongings be locked in your vehicle or left at home.
  14. Participating in the facilities activities, programs and equipment is at your own risk. If you need help or assistance, please ask the coordinator on duty.
  15. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the gym unless accompanied by an adult. An approved supervisor (over the age of 20) must be present at all times in order to be permitted in the gym.
  16. Return all equipment to its proper location.
Please keep in mind these rules are to ensure a comfortable and safe atmosphere for everyone. Please be courteous and respectful of others and the facility.
 

Instructions to Supervisors

  1. Refer to the schedule to know when you are scheduled to supervise.
  2. If you can’t make a specific day, please find someone from the supervisors list to substitute for you. The gym will be closed if there are no supervisors. Only supervisors from the list are allowed to substitute for each other because they are the only ones that know the instructions, responsibility, and gym rules.
  3. Get keys from Tasony Maria. There are 3 keys – gym, equipment room, and ball-cart.
  4. Unlock the gym and equipment room. Get the ball-cart out from the equipment room and immediately lock the equipment room. Make sure no one enters the equipment room except the supervisors – no children are allowed inside the equipment room at all.
  5. Equipment room must be locked at all times.
  6. Unlock the ball-cart. Children can use any of the balls from the ball cart. They cannot get any other balls or equipment from the equipment room.
  7. Hockey is absolutely not allowed.
  8. Ensure the gym rules are followed (see Gym Rules above).
  9. You and your partner are required to watch the children and make sure they are playing nicely together in a Christian way, safely with each other with the appropriate age, not damaging anything, there is no fighting, bullying, swearing, etc.
  10. It is preferred that both supervisors watch the children together. But at all times there should be at least one supervisor in the gym.
  11. When finished, ensure that all balls are returned back to the ball-cart. Lock the ball-cart and put it back in its designated location in the equipment room. 
  12. Ensure that the door between the equipment room and the janitor room is locked.
  13. Lock the equipment room, the gym, and the return the keys to Tasony Maria.
  14. After locking up, if the next group wants to take the keys from you to use the gym instead of getting the keys from Tasony Maria, then you can give them the keys but please ask their supervisor to notify Tasony Maria that they now have the keys.

If, when you first enter the gym or the equipment room, you find that it is not the way it should be (that is, rules not followed by the previous group – balls everywhere, food & drink on benches, etc), then report it to Robert Shahata or David Tawfik and please take 5 minutes to fix it.

If the balls are not inside the ball-cart, or scattered with shirts, shoes, food or drink, or anything against the gym rules, the gym will be closed the following week.
